Shannon Scott, clarinet and Leonard Garrison, flute Langston Hughes was one of the first jazz poets, and Valerie Coleman’s  Portraits of Langston incorporates Hughes’s poetry read by a narrator. The centerpiece of this program is in honor of African-American History Month.
