The Washington State University School of Music would like to invite prospective students and their parents/guardians to its Spring 2017 Music Major for a Day open house.  Enjoy a day in beautiful Pullman, WA and see what a typical schedule is like for a music major.  Event is open to all students considering a degree in music education, music performance, general music, or a double major.  Attendance is FREE of charge. Guest Recital: Kairos Trio

Formed in the fall of 2014, the Kairos Trio is the resident reed trio at the University of Northern Iowa. Drs. Amanda McCandless (clarinet), Heather Peyton (oboe), and Cayla Bellamy (bassoon) have since performed together throughout the Midwest, collaborating on both staple trio d’anches repertoire and also new music by composers such Nancy Hill Cobb, Jenni Brandon, and Robbie McCarthy.  Among them, the three have performed in four continents, and as core members with various symphonies and opera companies throughout…

It’s alive!  The electrifying adaptation of Mel Brook’s monstrously funny film comes to Bryan Hall Theatre in the School of Music's production of Young Frankenstein!  Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. The cast consists of twenty-two WSU students, directed by Dr. Julie Anne Wieck, Associate Professor of Music.  Dr.…
