Washington Special Election

About the event

Voting is part of being an active citizen, and your vote can make a difference. For instance, in the 2004 race for governor in Washington, Christine Gregoire won by only 129 votes, and only 60% of eligible citizens voted!

Washington state special elections can include a wide variety of topics, such as voting on school funding, building projects, taxes, local government officials and more. These topics impact your day-to-day life in your community, so it is important to make your voice heard.

For the April special election, the online voter registration deadline is March 27, and the in person deadline is April 17. Visit myvote.wa.gov to register online and check what issues will be on your ballot. Visit sos.wa.gov/elections/auditors to look up your in person registration location. Learn more about the Cougs Vote initiative at cce.wsu.edu/cougsvote.
