| The WSU Symphonic Band will present their first concert of the spring semester on February 14th at 8pm inside beautiful Bryan Hall Theatre. The first half of the concert will feature the WSU Chamber Winds, conducted by Dr. Troy Bennefield. This group of nine wind player plus cello and string bass will perform Antonin Dvorak’s classic Serenade in D Minor, Op. 44; commonly known as his Serenade for Winds. Following a brief intermission, the WSU Symphonic Band will perform. Three works. Beginning and ending the performance are pieces from historic band composers Norman Dello Joio (Satiric Dances) and Karl L. King (Excelsior). The middle work in the concert will be the Northwest Premiere performance of 24-year old Cassie Wieland’s “for what it is worth”.
