Mom’s Weekend Opera Workshop

It’s alive!  The electrifying adaptation of Mel Brook’s monstrously funny film comes to Bryan Hall Theatre in the School of Music’s production of Young Frankenstein!  Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. The cast consists of twenty-two WSU students, directed by Dr. Julie Anne Wieck, Associate Professor of Music.  Dr. Lark Powers, Clinical Assistant Professor served as the rehearsal accompanist but the performances will be supported by a pit orchestra, conducted by Assistant Professor Danh Pham.

The performances will be Mom’s Weekend on Friday, April 7 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets will be available in Kimbrough Lobby on April 5 – 7 from 10:00-2:00 p.m. or at the door 1 1/2 hours before each performance. General Admission is $15 and tickets for Students/Senior Citizens are $10.
