Korean movie night presented by KSA

About the event

Korean Student Association at Washington State University presents its annual showcase of Korean cinema on Tuesday, April 10, at 6 p.m. The event will be free and open to public.

Our selection this year is “I Can Speak,” which is the story of an elderly woman on her journey to face her past: a traumatic experience as a young girl at Japanese military brothels during the World War Two. Once she had the courage to speak her truth, it gave her not only a permission to stand up for herself, but also a chance to educate the public about the side of history left untold. The tone of the film remains light-hearted for the most part, albeit serious intent.
