Kaha:wi Dance Theatre is one of Canada’s leading contemporary dance companies, exploring the intersection of indigenous and new dance performance. KDT was founded by artistic director Santee Smith, a leading Canadian choreographer known for meaningful, athletic, and earthbound movement language.
This special program will include “The Honouring,” a site-specific, multidisciplinary performance honoring First Nations warriors of the War of 1812 and the Onkwehonwe families who sacrificed to protect Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) sovereignty, culture, and land.
