Inequality in Law Enforcement? A Public Square Event

About the event

Recent events in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City have once again brought questions of inequality in law enforcement to the forefront of a national conversation. What is behind the violence of these events? When does law enforcement become excessive force? Is racism, and other forms of discrimination, systemic in police culture?

Join students, faculty, staff, and community members in a civil discussion about these issues and how we can begin to understand this complicated topic at the Public Square on Thursday, February 5 at noon in Butch’s Den. Students should register for this event on CougSync. Registering for this event does not guarantee a seat. Please plan to arrive early to participate. Students earn one hour of civic engagement credit for participating in this event. Learn more about the Public Square series at cce.wsu.edu.
