Community Health Partnerships Workshop

About the event

The Health Equity Research Collaborative (HERC), a WSU Grand Challenges initiative, invites all WSU faculty and graduate students to a special workshop to support health and well-being in our region and beyond.

The workshop is free and lunch will be provided.

Register by April 3

HERC involves faculty from multiple colleges who have an interest in understanding the factors that promote health resilience and decrease health risks associated with poverty, discrimination, and poor access to healthcare.

Representatives from six community-based organizations will present ideas for research collaborations and externally funded projects that could significantly increase their abilities to fulfill their healthcare missions. Participating groups are:

The Native Project Spokane Regional Health District
Better Health Together Yakima County Health District
Pullman Regional Hospital Washington State Department of Health

Breakout sessions on nutrition, stress and health, and community-based intervention research will allow participants to discuss specific ideas for projects related to areas of WSU strength. Seed grants may be awarded to launch promising projects.

All faculty and graduate students are encouraged to attend. Space is limited, so register today.
