WSU Low Brass Collective Welcomes Two Internationally Recognized Artists

The Low Brass Collective, a WSU student organization dedicated to the promotion of low brass instruments, welcomes two internationally recognized artists to campus this semester.  Dr. Cory Mixdorf, Assistant Professor of Trombone at the University of Arkansas, will perform an eclectic program of trombone music in recital on Monday, September 19 in K115. Additionally, he will teach lessons and give master classes to WSU music students.  As part of this year’s Oktubafest, the Low Brass Collective has invited Scott Watson, the long-time tuba and euphonium professor at the University of Kansas, to the WSU campus for a series of lessons, lectures, and master classes. Scott Watson is known throughout the country as a master teacher, and many of his former students currently hold major positions in top military bands, college-level teaching posts, and prestigious public school positions around the United States. Watson’s recital will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at 8 PM in K115.

This concert is open to the public and without charge.
