Guest Recital: Mark Janello, harpsichord

About the event

Dr. Mark Janello, composer, harpsichordist, and chair of music theory at the Peabody Institute, will be giving a recital on Baroque Improvisation and doing a series of workshops on the topic at Washington State University on April 17th and 18th, 2017.  His improvisation recital, which will also feature his work Concerto for Two Keyboards, commissioned by the Aliénor Harpsichord Competition after he won first prize in 2012, will take place at 8pm on April 17th, in room 115.  Previously on the faculty at McGill University in Montreal, he has performed with the Washington D.C. Bach Sinfonia, the Baltimore Symphony and the Post-Classical Ensemble, and is a frequent presenter at the national meetings of the Society for Music Theory.
