About the event

Ludwig Beethoven described the first of his great, “late period” sonatas, the Piano Sonata No. 28, Op. 101, as “a series of impressions and reveries.” This theme serves as the inspiration for a stylistically varied program of piano music. Pianist Michael Seregow will perform Beethoven’s masterpiece along with other ‘impressions and reveries’ by Gabriel Fauré and Claude Debussy as well as Béla Bartók’s energetic, propulsive, and virtuosic Piano Sonata.

The evening’s program will include:

Nocturne No. 6 in D-flat Major, Op. 63 by Gabriel Fauré
Nocturne No. 12 in E minor, Op. 107 by Gabriel Fauré
Piano Sonata No. 28 in A Major, Op. 101 by Ludwig van Beethoven
Estampes by Claude Deubssy
Piano Sonata by Béla Bartók
