Faculty Artist Series: The “Grand” Piano

About the event

Jeff Savage, piano

Featuring works that exploit the piano’s entire range of color and expression, this program aims to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Corigliano’s Etude Fantasy is an intense and dramatic work, reminiscent at times of movie scores; the composer won an Academy Award for his score of 1998’s The Red Violin. Rounding out the program are a delightful set of variations by Mozart, and one the most thrilling pieces of music written for piano in the 19th Century, Liszt’s Sonata in B minor.
