Distinguished Faculty Address

About the event

Each year the University recognizes the work of one faculty member whose achievements in research, scholarship, and teaching, place that person in the front ranks of his or her discipline. The institution invites that individual to deliver a Distinguished Faculty Address to the University community.

This year, the Distinguished Faculty Address will be presented by Dr. Douglas R. Call. His Address is titled “Tackling the wicked problem of antibiotic resistance”.

Dr. Call is a nationally recognized, award-winning scholar who has an active research program in food and water-borne diseases and salmonid aquaculture. He is also a professor of molecular epidemiology in the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health conducting multi-disciplinary research in Tanzania concerning the ecology of antibiotic resistance; additional collaborative research is underway in Kenya and Nigeria.

The Distinguished Faculty Address will be in the Animal Disease Biotech Facility, Room 1002.
