2015 WSU President’s Award for Leadership Student Nominations Due

About the event

Nomination and application forms are now open for the 2015 WSU President’s Award for Leadership

Since 1996, the President’s Award has been an honor bestowed annually to students and others who advance leadership and engagement at WSU and beyond. Recipients of this prestigious award demonstrate exceptional leadership and service to the university and the community or support leadership development and engagement of WSU students. The 2015 award categories are student, student group, faculty or staff, and community organization.

To select the awardees, a committee of faculty, staff and students will review applicants by considering each within the framework of the Social Change Model of Leadership Development, specifically with respect to these qualities: consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, citizenship, and change.

Award recipients will be honored at the Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) event on April 23, 2015 at 5 PM. In addition to the presentation of the President’s Award, the LEAD program will feature the inauguration of the next year’s ASWSU and GPSA officers, a gallery of student leadership, a reception with light refreshments, and a guest speaker. All are welcome to attend the annual event. The LEAD event and President’s Award are presented in partnership by Student Involvement and the Center for Civic Engagement.

Student nominations are due March 8, 2015. Student applications and nominations for student groups, community organizations and faculty or staff are due March 22, 2015.
