Naked Lunch Break, the literary open mic and reading series brought to you by EWU Libraries and the Riverpoint campus community, kicks off its third season with a dynamic presentation by Kelly Rae Mathews, EWU anthropology and creative writing graduate.

Why are poets important? Mathews will tell you why, and the reasons will surprise you. Her multimedia presentation examines the ways in which performance poets build sustainable community through mentoring, a sense of shared intimacy, rituals of performance, interactive listening, and expression of self.
